A TRADITION BEGINS
In 1950, Anthony J. "Tony" Shuster, Sr. founded the company on three principals: provide good customer service; utilize the best materials available; and employ the best craftsmen to create the product. He considered anything less to be a betrayal of himself, his employees, and the people he had dedicated himself to serving. His refusal to deviate from these principles revolutionized the building components industry.

The Shuster split-jamb and pre-hung door system made the former tedious and time-consuming method of assembling and hanging doors individually nearly obsolete. Carpenters saved countless hours of labor and since the adage "Time is money" holds true, consumers saved thousands of dollars. As a result, Tony Shuster assisted in keeping housing affordable to the public and was greatly responsible for helping many families transform their dreams of owning a home of their own into reality.

GROWTH
The Shuster dream continued to come true along with those of the customers. Throughout the years the company has grown to the point where 1,500 units can be manufactured on a daily basis. Shuster's is proud of the fact that with such an impressive increase in manufacturing and sales, their standards of high quality remain unchanged.

THE TRADITION CONTINUES
Much has changed at Shuster's Building Components since 1950. The company has grown to a massive five-acre complex. Computerized equipment ensures even greater exactitude. A fleet of twenty tractors and over forty trailers services more than 1,000 dealers in a seven state area. The product line has grown considerably over the years.

One facet of Shuster's Building components, however, has remained the same. It is the motto set forth by Tony Shuster when, with the creation of his first pre-hung unit, he opened a "door" to a new world of quality and excellence in building components.

It is the motto often thought, often spoken, and always practiced by everyone at Shuster's Building Components: "Customer service above all else".

It is the motto carried on by a new generation through Anthony J. Shuster, Jr., company President/General Manager and James A. Vogel Vice-President/Sales Manager and Dan Miller, Vice President/Sales Manager.
